Yuuki O.T. is a renowned artist known for her work in traditional Japanese Kamigata dance, a dance form characterized by its minimal motion and expressive power. Through her performances, films, and photography, she conveys contemporary images using traditional Japanese fans and kimonos, bringing her unique interpretation to audiences around the world.

Yuuki began her journey in the arts from an early age, studying dance and tea ceremony in her childhood. She further honed her skills by pursuing a master’s degree in art at the Graduate School of Fine Arts at Tokyo University of the Arts.

Her body of work includes various acclaimed pieces such as the performance “tears of Eos” (2009) at Tokyo Asahi ArtSquare and the performance “camellia” (2012) at the Beppu Contemporary Art Festival. Yuuki’s dance film “aquarium” (2013) was screened at prestigious international film festivals in 12 countries, including the Sculpture Garden in New York, the Ludwig Museum in Germany, the Freiburg Theater, and the Miró Museum in Mallorca, Spain.

Yuuki’s more recent work includes the film “peri” (2021), which was featured at the Screen Dance Festival at Dansmuseet in Stockholm, Sweden.

This film earned several awards, including Best Dance Short Film at the Kiez Berlin Film Festival in Germany, Best Experimental Film at the Slovak film festival “EUROPE MUSIC AWARD,” and an Honorable Mention at the Budapest Film Festival in 2023.

Yuuki O.T.’s dedication to her craft and her ability to blend traditional elements with modern interpretations make her a significant figure in the world of dance and visual arts. Her work continues to captivate audiences worldwide, showcasing the depth and beauty of Japanese culture through her unique artistic lens.
