Calienes has made significant contributions to the industry, including Executive Producing the Student Academy Award-winning film “Esta es tu Cuba” and “The Shadow of the Sun,” which was Venezuela’s official selection for the 96th Academy Awards. Her comedy, “The Three Bilinguals,” has gained both domestic and international acclaim for its universal story that amplifies the American Latino voice.

As an advocate for diversity and inclusion, Maylen founded the Latino Filmmakers Network in 2015 at the Sundance Film Festival. This nonprofit organization aims to bring visibility, opportunity, and proper representation to the Latiné community within the entertainment industry.

Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish MayCal Productions, focusing on indie films, and co-found QueEyeTV.com, a platform that features bilingual (English/Spanish) voices to expand the narrative. Additionally, she co-founded Multi-Studios, a film studio that produces long and short form content specializing in commercially viable and diverse stories with impactful, lasting social messages.
