Katy’s journey into film began in 2013 with formal acting training, which she pursued for a year before branching out independently. Her debut role was as Gemma in the short film Just Gemma, followed by her first written script Girl Talk—later refined and re-envisioned as Ladies Night, which is set to begin production soon.

In 2014, she penned what would become her most ambitious project to date: Boundless, a six-part, multi-award-winning murder mystery series. Filmed in 2015 during her annual leave and self-funded, Boundless premiered in 2019 in Glasgow and now streams on OpprimeTV. It also marked the beginning of a successful partnership with Andy, her production collaborator, with whom she is co-founding BlueCloth Productions.

Under the BlueCloth banner, Katy has helped write and produce four additional award-winning short films: Retail Therapy, Hidden Scars, The Weekend, and Hallowed Be Thy Name. Her talent as a writer is further highlighted by two globally recognized scripts: Me, Myself & I (short) and Regalia (feature), both of which have earned numerous accolades.

Beyond filmmaking, Katy is the author of the Colour Coded spy/gang book series, with trailers produced and edited entirely by her.

As an autistic artist, Katy’s relentless pursuit of growth—whether through acting, editing, or visual effects—reflects her commitment to pushing boundaries and embracing discomfort as a catalyst for creativity. Her journey is a testament to resilience, vision, and the limitless potential of self-belief. The best is yet to come.
