Juan Carlos Díaz is a prominent producer, editor, and director with an established career in the audiovisual industry. His education at the Lima Film School provided him with a solid foundation in cinematic storytelling, leading him to create two short films that marked the beginning of his career.

In 2012, he began working as an editor and post-producer of advertising at Cineplanet, one of Peru’s largest cinema chains, where he honed his skills in editing and post-production. His talent led him to explore new creative opportunities, and in 2018 he wrote and directed his first teaser, VIRUZ, which received an outstanding response, quickly surpassing half a million views.
In 2021, Díaz wrote the script for La Bruja de Cao, a film based on real events that was presented to the Peruvian Ministry of Culture (DAFO). However, due to the pandemic, its production was postponed. Undeterred, in 2022 he independently wrote and directed La Hora Roja, the first Peruvian film shot in a single continuous take. This groundbreaking project has won over 34 awards at prestigious international festivals, establishing itself as a landmark in independent cinema.

Currently, Juan Carlos Díaz continues to push creative boundaries. He has written his new script, Sola, a post-apocalyptic film that will be the first of its kind to feature only one actress. This ambitious project is set to be filmed in 2025 and promises to redefine cinematic storytelling in Peru and beyond. His avant-garde vision and commitment to innovation position him as one of the most influential creators in independent cinema today.
With an ever-evolving artistic vision, Juan Carlos Díaz is dedicated to challenging conventional filmmaking techniques. His projects continue to captivate audiences worldwide, demonstrating that independent cinema has the power to tell compelling, innovative stories that push the limits of the medium.
