Brittney Rae Carrera (known as Brittney Rae) is a Writer, Director, Actor, and Comedian from Miami, FL, raised in a Cuban-American household. She’s known for both her film and TV work as well as her online comedy, which has gained viral recognition. First known for her feature on TBS Network Misery Index / Impractical Jokers video submission of her dancing in an empty room just before a 20 foot Yellow anaconda opens the door and slithers in, causing her to scream and run into the wall. She is also recognized for working with popular YouTube comedians like Cherdleys, Joel Haver, Cerspence, Blake Rosier, Trevor Wallace and Dax Flame. They are so silly.

A Sundance-supported filmmaker, Brittney was selected for the Sundance (Miami) Short Film Intensive for her short film “WATER” which is being adapted to a feature, along with her next feature film, “Scorpion Town 4” (There will never be a 1,2 or 3.) Her directing work has been recognized by Variety, LA Weekly, and Forbes, and she was featured in Directors You Should Know. She trained in NYC at HB Studio, UCB, and Magnet Theatre, performing Off-Broadway and in stand-up before making the jump to filmmaking. She’s been honored at Sundance, San Diego Comic-Con, and Miami Film Festival, received a Best Actress nomination at Mammoth Film Festival, and her work has played at multiple festivals across the country.

Before breaking into film, Brittney worked briefly as a professional alligator wrangler in the Everglades”once saving an elderly man from the jaws of a 12-foot gator. The man later died, but it was not alligator-related. 

Brittney continues performing and creating online, most recently launching a very serious sock business, welcometothesockfactory.com, as well as acting in TV and film”most recently opposite Glen Powell in Chad Powers (coming to Hulu in Fall 2025).
