Early Artistic Foundations

Born in Guatemala City on October 30, 1985, Müller’s relationship with art began early. At just ten years old, he entered the world of music through piano studies, an experience that would quietly shape his sensitivity to rhythm, silence, and emotional cadence. Although he initially pursued Electronic Engineering at Universidad del Valle, his artistic calling proved stronger. This pivotal decision led him to Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, where he studied Digital Filmmaking at UNIAT, formally committing to a creative path that would soon transcend borders.

A Distinct Cinematic Language

Müller’s cinema is defined by an intimate approach to storytelling and a rigorous aesthetic vision. His films often explore memory, identity, historical reflection, and human connection, not as abstract concepts but as lived experiences embedded in place and character. This sensitivity allows his work to resonate with diverse audiences while remaining rooted in the cultural textures of Latin America.

His feature films and short works have circulated widely across major international festivals, earning selections and awards that recognize not only technical excellence but also narrative authenticity. Notably, Müller stands as the only Central American director with two films distributed worldwide on Netflix, a milestone that underscores both the global reach and relevance of his voice.

Global Reach and Industry Impact

Beyond independent cinema, Müller has built an extraordinary career in commercial and commissioned filmmaking. He has produced and directed more than 1,000 audiovisual projects for global brands, artists, and institutions, including RSA Films, Mercedes-Benz, FC Barcelona, Microsoft, UNICEF, the European Union, and major figures in music such as Ricardo Montaner, Daddy Yankee, and Bomba Estéreo. These collaborations reflect a versatility that allows him to adapt his storytelling skills to diverse formats without compromising artistic integrity.

His role as producer of Ricardo Arjona’s candlelight concert Hecho a la Antigua further illustrates his ability to translate emotion and intimacy into large scale audiovisual experiences. His professional work has taken him across Latin America, Europe, and the United States, reinforcing his position as a truly international filmmaker.

Films, Festivals, and Recognition

Müller’s filmography has been widely celebrated on the festival circuit. Works such as 12 Seconds, September, Nebaj, and Gol de Plata have received awards for direction, cinematography, production, and narrative strength at events including the Ícaro International Film Festival, San Diego Latino Film Festival, Guadalajara International Film Festival, and the Platino Awards. His films have been showcased in cities from Havana to Beverly Hills, from Trieste to Mérida, reflecting a sustained dialogue between local stories and global audiences. In parallel, Müller has contributed to the cinematic community as a jury member at Ventana Sur in Buenos Aires and the Cuenca International Film Festival, reinforcing his commitment to supporting emerging voices.

Recent Work and Contemporary Relevance

Among his most recent projects is the short film Delusion, starring Ale Nones, which premiered at the Shorts Mexico International Festival in September 2025. The film continues Müller’s exploration of psychological and emotional landscapes through a refined visual language. That same year, he was invited by the technology brand HONOR to Milan to film with professional footballer Santiago Giménez, reflecting the trust major international brands place in his creative vision. In December 2025, Müller will be honored in Milan with an award from the International Excellence Awards, recognizing his ability to transform personal and collective memories into powerful cinematic narratives.
